Tamsin & Simon's Wedding DJ at Plas Dinam Country House
So here are the highlights for this one: a young couple from Reading booked a DJ based in Bromsgrove for their wedding in Wales. Plas Dinam Country House in Llandinam, to be precise. Yeah, that did happen!
Most of the time, I stick to working within my catchment area but there are occasions where an enquiry for a wedding that’s happening further afield lands in my inbox and really piques the interest. This is exactly what happened when Tamsin & Simon got in touch after Tamsin saw my promo video and thought to herself “that’s exactly what I would like for my wedding!”
I met up with Tamsin & Simon at Plas Dinam back in January to get a feel for the music that they love as well as size up the dancefloor that we’ll be rocking together. It was here that I got to learn a little bit about them both and I could tell that this was going to be a great night.
Onto the big day itself, the wedding breakfast and evening reception happened in the Old Stables. I was on hand to provide music while guests enjoyed their meals and then some microphones for speeches. After the formalities were done, it was my job to ensure that there were some sore feet by the end of the night! As you can imagine, a wide range was played but the lasting memories from the night will be Hip Hop, Florence & The Machine, 00’s Indie, London Grammar and Spandau Ballet’s Gold. Tamsin, Simon and all of their guests were a great bunch to perform for and I suspect that Plas Dinam’s dancefloor had never rocked so hard before - it will be a hard task to follow an audience as good as they were, I kid you not.
This was also the night that Liverpool took on Tottenham in the Champions League Final. Being a big Spurs fan, Simon ensured that there was a TV put to one side so those interested could keep an eye on the score and based on the result, I felt that it would be too soon to play 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. It's not something that I would play very often anyway, but the antagonostic side of me was really tempted.
Having your music tailored to you and your guests is such a difference maker, especially on your wedding day. I know that it’s just so much better to dance to the songs that you all love and not be force fed a generic ‘mobile disco’, and that’s why I would work with you in the run up to your big day to ensure that your wedding is exactly that – yours. After all, perfect days deserve incredible night!
