Sophie & Nicky's Wedding DJ at Redhouse Barn

As a Professional Wedding DJ who has performed at Redhouse Barn many times over the years, I still remain in awe of how amazing it is. It’s a beautiful venue in it’s own right and one that makes my job a lot easier, from how great the owners and staff are to work with to the fact that Redhouse Barn has it’s own in-house sound and lighting. Sophie & Nicky were recently married at Redhouse Barn and I was there to rock the LED dancefloor as their Wedding DJ!

I have to admit that this one didn’t turn out exactly as I thought it would. Having sat down with Sophie & Nicky a couple of months before their big day, the Brides wanted to ensure that there would be variety throughout the night so that all of their guests would hear something that they would love to dance to but after chatting with them extensively over a cuppa, I walked away thinking that this was going to be a night that favoured the 90s. After all, it was songs from the 90s that took up the lion share of the list that we compiled and there was even mention of 5ive, Backstreet Boys, Gina G and Britney Spears. Let’s not forget that their first dance is also a 90s song…it was a safe assumption, right?

I doffed the proverbial cap to all genres and decades to offer that variety to guests but the decade that received the most love from Sophie, Nicky & Co. was the 80s, particularly the New Romantic stuff. 90s music did go down well - especially my 90s dance set - but it was the 80s that won overall. Epic tunes from Bronski Beat, The Communards, Soft Cell, ABC and many more bangers filled the floor from start to finish and I was chuffed to bits to see so many smiles on faces and feet on the dancefloor.

Redhouse Barn is an amazing setting for your wedding and a venue that I love to perform at.
