Stephanie & James' Wedding DJ at The Limes Country Lodge Hotel

I do enjoy performing at venues that I have never been to before. It’s a great chance for me to meet some new people and experience some new personalities. On top of that, it offers up new challenges on ensuring that I have the correct sound and lightshow to complement those venues. Step forward Stephanie & James – a delightful couple who had booked me to be their Professional Wedding DJ at The Limes Country Lodge Hotel in Solihull, and what a belter of a night we had!

I met the happy couple a couple of months beforehand to talk through their evening entertainment, and I could tell straight away that it was going to be a lot of fun. The song requests that they asked for included The Black Keys, Smashing Punpkins, Weezer, The Pixies, all topped off with some naughties indie and punk rock.

As well as my nightclub experience, I had also performed at a lot of student nights during the naughties, so I was very much in my element. Playing some great tunes made me look back fondly to those days in the DJ booth of those student bars. Well, except for the sticky floor from repeated spillages of snakebite and black. That sound of my shoes trying to walk across a sticky floor at the start of a night still haunts me to this day!

There were silly props for the guests to dance around with, a marquee with panoramic views of the wonderful scenery, a fantastic British summer’s day and a (subjectively) handsome DJ spinning the tunes. Quite frankly, what else would you want on your wedding day?

Stephanie, James & Co. had a great night, and I was very pleased to play a part in making sure that their day ended with a bang. After all, perfect days deserve incredible nights.
