Having been a DJ since I was 15 years old, I think that it’s fair to say that over the last 18 years, I have been around the block more times than a 17-year-old boy who has just bought himself a Vauxhall Nova after having recently passed his driving test. However, this weekend, I have had a trio of firsts: working with the amazing team at Honeysuckle & Castle, performing as a Professional Wedding DJ at The Riding School at Calke Abbey and rocking the dancefloor alongside the incredibly talented Sarah Sax Player!
Traditionally, I get booked up months in advanced and as I was approaching a very busy September, there was one Saturday night that I had free and was looking forward to making the most of it. That was until I heard from Katie & Stephen in August and they informed me that they were still looking for the right DJ for their wedding. Naturally, I was torn but after hearing that I will be working somewhere new as well as performing with Sarah, I decided that this could be better than a night off.
I was right.
I’ve worked with quite a few Sax Players over the years and as an onlooker (well, as much as one can be an onlooker while DJing) I can still appreciate how exhausting it can be, so to see Sarah Sax Player perform for 90 minutes straight…blimey! Still, despite being out of puff come the end and, I’m sure, having some incredibly achey cheeks, Sarah played an absolute blinder. Together, we created a set that was straight out of Ibiza and combining my creative touch with Sarah’s brass sounds ensured that the first half of Katie & Stephen’s wedding shindig started with a bang!
After Sarah had finished, the pressure was on me to continue the feel goods and that’s exactly what I did. Indie, RnB, Pop and even more dance was the flavour of the night and Katie, Stephen & Co. kept that dancefloor rocking until the very end.
Perfect days really do deserve incredible nights and it really pays to have a Professional Wedding DJ that is one step clear of the standard ‘Mobile Disco’. If you’re looking for a DJ who can rock your dancefloor, then click the button below!
