Grace & Paul's Wedding DJ at Brockencote Hall

It has been a while since I last performed at Brockencote Hall. It’s a stunning Victorian Country Manor House in Kidderminster and a venue that always seems to host an epic party, so when Grace & Paul asked whether I could be the DJ for their wedding, I jumped at the chance. The fact that it’s less than 20 minutes from my home didn’t hurt either!

Brockencote Hall is an intimate venue and when you are paired up alongside a band, space does become an issue. I pride myself on having a lightshow and sound system that most mobile discos would kill for and even when I have to squeeze into a corner, I know that I can make Brockencote Hall look and sound great. There’s also the need to complement entertainment – there’s nothing more jarring than having an epic live performance, only for it to be followed by a sub-par Mobile DJ (or vice-versa!). For your wedding, your band and DJ need to both be fantastic in quality to ensure that the night stays consistently awesome!

I always love working alongside a band because it’s a lot of fun and a fantastic way to add some variety to the evening to keep your guests engaged. As there was a large Irish contingent at their wedding, Grace & Paul had The Hurling Boys to perform for them – a Ceilidh Band who quickly became one of the most entertaining bands that I have ever worked with. After Grace & Paul’s first dance, The Hurling Boys took over for their first set and the tone of the night was set from there. The Hurling Boys did two sets during the night and my remit was to add something a little bit different to this wedding.

During the consultation, Paul asked for one of my infamous Ibiza sets and I saw absolutely no reason why we couldn’t bring a bit of the While Isle to Kidderminster. Balearic anthems set that dance floor alight and after that, we rounded the night off with some epic 00’s Indie & Rock.

Perfect days really do deserve incredible nights.
