Covid Wedding DJ
Unless you’ve been living on Mars for the best part of the last year, you have probably noticed the absolute [insert your own desired adjective] of a year known as 2020. As a professional wedding DJ, I am more used to seeing huge groups of people bunched together and dancing without a care in the world. One day we will be able to go back to the days of seeing your Best Man trying (and failing) to dance up against the second-best looking woman at the wedding disco (the best looking, of course, being the Bride) but just because we’re restricted on numbers now doesn’t mean that we can’t have a damn good time anyway.
If you’ve ever delved into the deepest depths of my website, you may have come across a Vlog I made a couple of years ago where I documented a trip to Gibraltar and during those few days away, I got married in the presence of a select few of my favourite people…and my then wife-to-be (sorry, I couldn’t resist it!). Ironically, the total number of people that were at our wedding was fifteen and that’s exactly how we wanted it; small, intimate and in the company of the best of the best. One year later, Covid-19 strikes and - at the time of writing - wedding numbers are restricted to 15 people.
There is a massive difference between those two scenarios though – we chose to have a smaller wedding whereas newlyweds-to-be are having that choice foisted upon them. Despite that, I have been inspired by couples who have taken the decision to carry on regardless and have ended up not only having a perfect day but also an incredible night. I have had the pleasure of performing for some awesome people in 2020 – as I do every year – and whatever restrictions are in place by the time your big day comes around, don’t let any of that hold you back from having an epic day.
I always pride myself on being able to adapt as a professional wedding DJ and while this year has required quite the shift, I am proud of the changes that I’ve made so that I can perform in a Covid secure way. Of course, some would prefer to wait until the number of guests allowed are increased but if I’m allowed to work within the restrictions, then you can rest assured that I will be there for you regardless as to how many will be in attendance. After all, smaller doesn’t necessarily mean not as good (I know what you’re thinking…STOP IT!).
