Amy & Carl's Wedding DJ at The Mill Barns
Being a part of a damn good party as a Wedding DJ is always a hell of a lot of fun. In fact, to tell you a little secret, weddings are my favourite parties to perform at. You see, a lot of DJs think that weddings are stressful to prep and play for and in the end, it always boils down to playing ‘the usual suspects’. Personally, I don’t see it that way because every wedding is different, and Amy and Carl's wedding party at The Mill Barns in Aveley was no exception.
After a bit of music to start building up an atmosphere, Amy & Carl took the dance floor for their first dance as a married couple, and that moment had set the tone for the rest of the night. They had chosen ‘Yours’ by Ella Henderson, and part way through their first dance, Amy & Carl were joined by their little one for a family moment. I’m not crying – you’re crying!
Amy's love for Kisstory-style music and pop was evident throughout the night. From Becky Hill to Drake, Meghan Trainor to Sean Paul (sorry, I of course meant Chanderpaul!), Amy and her Bridal squad danced heartily to some absolute bangers.
Carl, on the other hand, had a particular love for rock and indie music, with a soft spot for Sam Fender. It was important for me to make sure that his taste in music was represented as well, so I made sure to include some of his favourite tracks in the mix. It was great to see both of them enjoying themselves and dancing with their friends and family.
Throughout the night, I also had to get guests involved in the dancing by playing a wide range of music to cater for all tastes. There were classic disco anthems, current chart hits, and even some old school R&B and soul. Having that variety is important so that everyone gets a chance to shake it to something that they will enjoy.
The Mill Barns is a stunning venue for the wedding party, and that fact is perfectly encapsulated by the photos taken by wedding photographer extraordinaire (and fellow tattooed/beardy-bloke), Mat James. Mat captured some wild dance floor antics that really do show how much fun this lot were on the night. Congratulations Amy and Carl – you and your guests played an absolute blinder!
