Pippa & Danny's Wedding DJ at The Mill Barns
After having so much fun performing at The Mill Barns a few months ago, I was looking forward to going back there again. The venue is stunning and the room we rig for is spacious enough for a sizeable rig and an even more sizable guest list. Thankfully, Pippa and Danny booked me as their Wedding DJ back in January and after meeting up with them, I just knew that this wedding was destined to be a stormer!
This lovely couple sat in my kitchen as they told me about the music that they love, with Danny taking particular delight in mentioning his favourites – Blue, Spice Girls, 5ive, Steps, Backstreet Boys, Peter Andre…you can kinda see where this is going (although thinking back, I’m not sure if Danny’s delight was because he was talking about the music that he loves, or that every time he mentioned a song or artist, Pippa’s head went into her hands). From Pippa’s side, Serani & Gyptian were mentioned, along with some 00’s RnB as a whole.
It was raining when we arrived at The Mill Barns, but that certainly did not dampen the spirits of Pippa & Danny or their 170+ guests. Pippa danced with her Father and Grandfather first, then onto the first dance with Danny and from there it was party time! The Mill Barns was very hot and sweaty but that didn’t stop those in attendance from dancing the night away. A packed dancefloor full of people singing with joy and dancing with gusto compensated me for the fact that I went into deep 90’s Cheese – we’re talking Vengaboys, DJ Ötzi, S Club 7 and Shania Twain. It seemed that the more cheesy that the 90’s music got, the more it was well received by this crowd. Throw in some One Direction, Taylor Swift and Carly Ray Jepson, and this gig resulted in me having a shower when I got home to wash the shame off of me!
I joke, of course but this is why it’s so important to work with your DJ in the run up to your big day. You could be a big fan of cheesy pop, heavy metal or anything in between and if you have a DJ who will work with you, they could tailor the night to you and your guests. I always work with my clients in the run up to their weddings and I think it’s a crucial part in the planning stages of any event. Whether you love Pop, Dance, Indie, RnB, Hip-Hop, Rock, Disco, Soul or anything else, the mantra for you wedding stays the same – Perfect Days Deserve Incredible Nights!
