Liz & James' Wedding DJ at Wootton Park

When Liz & James booked me as their Wedding DJ at Wootton Park, this was a party that I was looking forward to for a long time. I know of many DJs who have performed at Wootton Park, but I was still yet to have the privilege. Add to that the fact that Liz & James seemed like such a fun couple…well, who wouldn’t want to rock this dancefloor?

We’ve only just ticked over into the summer and have already been treated to a heatwave that has lasted a few weeks (not that I’m complaining, of course – I’m loving this holiday-like weather before I jet away on holiday for real!), so when you perform at a venue like Wootton Park that is beautiful inside and even better outside, on a day like this, it’s a real test for any DJ.

The white walls are great for my wash lighting and the room is acoustically brilliant too, which certainly helped with many of the guests wanting to enjoy the sun whilst also wanting to enjoy the music. I’ll be honest, I was a little jealous of them being able to top up their tans, drink cold beverages and enjoy some great music in the process.

Once the sun started to set though, we kicked off the party properly! 90s Pop was the big hitter for the night, but we also managed to get some Indie, Dance, RnB and a bit of ‘Dad Rock’ in there too. All the guests were a pleasure to interact with and perform for, and its nights like these that remind me that while it’s great to have guests swinging off the chandeliers all night long, it’s also great to let everyone enjoy the venue, surroundings and the weather for a while before they come in to rock a dancefloor!
