Helen & Rich’s Wedding DJ at Shustoke Farm Barns
“You’re going to hate us, but we like very different things!” These are words that I often hear when I sit down with my almost newlywed clients. Surely there’s no way we can incorporate what I like along with what my partner likes, as well as what all of our guests like, right? Well let me tell you the story of Helen & Rich, who had recently gotten married at Shustoke Farm Barns where I was honoured to perform as their Wedding DJ.
To put it simply, Rich is a big fan of Motown and Northern Soul. Helen, on the other hand, loves Old Skool (dats wiv a ‘K’, yo!) Hip-Hop Anthems. As for their guests, well the variety that they requested is far too vast to list here but this is what I love about performing at Weddings – there are so many different people from different generations who have different tastes, and while appeasing all of that, it’s my job to ensure that everyone walked away remembering (in this case) that this was Helen & Rich’s wedding, and not that generic and forgetful ‘Mobile Disco’ at your friend’s wedding from last year that you really can’t remember that much of.
Helen & Rich were an absolute joy to work with. Both were incredibly relaxed and organised in the run up to the big day and when we got there, their guests followed suit. Performing for a great bunch who know how to have a good time, and whose dancing skills ranged from epic to dodgy, this midweek wedding shows that it’s not just the traditional Saturday nights that can have great parties! On top of that, what better place to dance the night away than Shustoke Farm Barns?
