Charlie & James' Wedding DJ at The Mill Barns

Charlie & James were guests at a wedding that I performed for last year and it was not too long afterwards that I received an email in my inbox from Charlie asking if I would rock the dancefloor as their Wedding DJ at The Mill Barns in Alveley.

Straight away, I could see why this delightful couple fell in love with the venue.  A couple of weeks before their big day, I arrived at The Mill Barns to have a quick nosey around and to chat to Charlie & James about their evening entertainment.  Unfortunately, Charlie & James ended up with a flat tyre on their way there so were running late, but that was not a problem for me at all - the weather was fantastic and when you're walking around a venue as beautiful as this, with eight acres of mature landscaped gardens, mesmerising water features and a unique walkway taking in three stunning outdoor terraces, I found a way to fill the time.

On arrival, Charlie, James and I sat on some nice, comfy sofas and chatted about what they and their guests love to dance to.  Charlie had grown up listening to The Drifters with her Dad, along with some other soulful acts.  There was also a bit of a soft spot for some Motown and Reggae.  On the other end of the scale, there were mentions of Chart Music, Dance, RnB and Indie - certainly a variety for me to get my teeth into and to ensure that everyone gets to hear something that they'll enjoy.

Charlie & James' wedding day weather was just as gorgeous as it was when I was there for our chat.  Some guests enjoyed sitting outside and relaxing while others wanted to dance the night away.  Come the last hour though, that floor was rammed with everyone in attendance and featured some incredibly boisterous dancing that won't leave the memory too quickly.  It was a fun night to end the day and I'm looking forward to going back there in a few months not only to once again work with the amazing staff there, but also to continue rocking the dancefloor of one of the more beautiful venues that I have ever had the chance to perform at.
